Mawimbi Bush Camp is a luxury tented camp located on the Kafue River, in the Kafue National Park, Zambia. Each tent is tastefully furnished in African themes and has its own en-suite ecological “green” bathroom. The main activity offered is canoeing through an amazing variety of habitats and breathtaking scenery – sometimes fast and exciting and sometimes lazy and leisurely. Wilderness game walks in the Kafue National Park are organized every morning and afternoon for those not wishing to brave the canoeing and are a must for all lovers of the African bush. Of course, there is a huge variety of bird life that awaits exploring as well as fishing for many different species of fish by lure or fly. You will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Kafue river as well as some adrenalin pumping canoeing adventures! A great place to explore the wonder that is Africa!

ACCESS Mawimbi Bush Camp can be accessed by road and air. BY ROAD:- From Lusaka head westwards on M9 road in direction of Mongu and Kafue National park. It takes approximately 4-5hrs, on a good tar road, to reach the main entrance of the Kafue National Park called Chunga Point. From there, proceed southwards for another 45min to Mawimbi Bush Camp on the Park’s main gravel road until you see the sign for Mawimbi Bush Camp. Turn left onto a narrow bush track driving for another 2km until you reach the bush camp.
BY AIR:- From Johannesburg International airport (South Africa) it takes two hours to reach Lusaka International airport. Kafue National Park is approximately 45min flying from Lusaka by a 4 seats chartered aircraft. Landing strip is called Chunga Wildlife Headquarters (coordinates S15° 03’14.5” E25° 59’04.6”). From there clients are transferred by a safari vehicle to Mawimbi Bush Camp. Alternatively, clients can opt to canoe from Chunga Wildlife Headquarters to the Mawimbi Bush Camp that would take approximately 5hrs (including picnic lunch), whilst their luggage will be transferred by a vehicle.
