  • The Hide Hwange Safari Camp is a luxurious tented camp located in the south east area of Hwange National Park.  It has won the coveted AZTA "Best Safari Camp" award in Zimbabwe consistently for more than ten years and remains a firm favourite for the most discerning safari seekers.  The Hide is one of the best places in Africa to go walking with a professional guide.  A standout amidst Hwange accommodation, the Hide was established over 20 years ago by the Preston Family, who remain integrally involved as the property owners.  The camp is located in one of Hwange National Park's richest wildlife areas and over the years it has carefully distilled a very special safari experience that has resulted in many a return guest.  Hwange National Park was once the royal hunting ground for the ancient kings of the Matabele people.  They chose this area because of its incredible diversity of wildlife and because of its protection it still remains one of Africa's most pristine environments today.  This massive area is famously known for its vast elephant and buffalo populations and herds of a 100 plus animals are not uncommon, especially at the many water holes.  It is also one of the best places in Africa to see lion, leopard and the African Wild Dog.

  • The following guests had this to say about their stay at the Hide :-

Dave H from Lynton, England, United Kingdom
Superb accommodation in a wonderful setting, excellent food and as usual great Zimbabwean service.

    Janet from Toronto in Canada
"This was my sixth safari in Africa and it was the best.  It is an intimate camp, tasteful, modest yet luxurious.  The attention to detail was great."

    Eangelina from Brough, United Kingdom
WOW was my initial reaction as I walked into the "garden" of Tom's Little Hide. A buffalo was standing a few feet away the other side of a fence made of woven branches staring at me and the family and behind it was a whole herd consisting of over 200 buffalo.

Kirby from St.Albans in the UK
"With private rooms facing a watering hole and a fantastic opportunity to 'sleep out' I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a wonderful safari experience.  The staff were friendly and informative and really put a smile on my face with their  'knock knock' call for coffee before our game drive"

    Steve from the UK
"The Hide, Hwange National Park, all you would expect of a safari.  The food was always excellent and plentiful with quite a diverse menu.  The guides are the make or break of this type of holiday and I have to say ours were really knowledgeable and provided a wealth of experience from tracking the wild animals to identifying the different bird species."
