  • Norma Jeane’s Lake View Resort, overlooking the peaceful Lake Mutirikwi (also known as Lake Kyle), offers pleasant and friendly accommodation reminiscent of colonial times, 10 minutes away from the Great Zimbabwe Monument, a World Heritage site and one of Zimbabwe’s most well-known tourist attractions.  Norma Jeane’s Lake View Resort is known for its beautiful gardens, home-style cooking, comfortable accommodation and friendly service. Norma Jeane’s Lake View Resort is part of the history of the area, as it is built around retirement homestead of Murray MacDougal, the man responsible for opening up Zimbabwe’s vast Lowveld to modern agriculture.  This dam, with a surface area of 91km² the third largest in Zimbabwe, was built to provide much-needed water for the Lowveld.  The perfect location of Norma Jeane’s Lakeview Resort, nestled in and amongst the Msasa woodland and granite hills, shows that, apart from being an agricultural pioneer, Murray MacDougal certainly had an eye for a great spot!

Great facilities! Very beautiful place to stay and experience the lake and the Great Zimbabwe Ruins!

Carolyn B from Norwich, United Kingdom
All the staff were very friendly at helpful. It's ideal for visiting Great Zimbabwe, but take some time to explore the lakes and the surrounding area as well, they are worth it.

Jackie S from Johannesburg South Africa
Lovely clean camp site, great bathrooms, lots of level sites, hot water, loads of wood - all the ingredients for a perfect camping holiday! The resort has beautiful gardens and a great view of the Lake.

    Tim from Perth, Australia
The grounds are fabulous with lots of nooks and crannies to explore while looking out over the lake. The camping facilities are good with fire pits and a washing up area. The showers were some of the best I has encountered in a month in Africa with really hot water and good pressure.

    Heather Camp from Botswana
Clean and comfortable lodge. We appreciated being able to have our own braai one night and eat in the restuarant the next. Well positioned for a day trip to the Zimbabwe Ruins and sun downers at the Dam Wall.
